Below is a step by step guide on searching for your pictures using the search capabilities on the gallery pages.

We do our best to keep it simple using event numbers and don’t use names. This protects your identity from internet searchers.

If you can’t find it at first there are some hints and tips below, and 90% of the time you will find what you want instantly. Just remember to search within the event you were at !

Using Search to Find Your Pictures:

  1. Go to the Event List and select your event, you may have to scroll down to find it, or go to the Event Map, find the event and click on the gallery link
  2. Read the Event Text on the front page to the event. This will explain if the event is fully uploaded and ready for searching,.
  3. If the Pictures have been Indexed follow the instructions on searching for your race number - usually use the box in the top right hand corner and enter your race number.
  4. If the Pictures have not been indexed, then please wait until the Event information says that  they have been indexed.
  5. Use the Search box in the top right hand corner (or click on “Search” on the left of the page).
  6. We only put data into the Picture Caption (IPTC Caption), so don’t use the advanced search for anything else
  7. If you know the Image reference number then you can input that into the search box too
  8. We DO NOT use names, club names or other identifiers for searching. This helps to ensure individuals online privacy against search engines.
  9. Don’t enter punctuation marks - just type in the number.
  10. Since November 2006 we have been putting in only the race number for numbers greater than 10. If your race number is under 10 will put a zero in front i.e. 07, 05, 01 as this enables it to be searched effectively (you don’t want every race number with a 5 in it for example). Please read the Event Text for the specifics used for an event.
  11. We ONLY use race numbers to index pictures or Event Names.
  12. If we cannot identify your Race Number we usually denote these as 000, so put that into the Search box to see if you are in there too.
  13. If you cannot remember your race number, then the race results web page might list that for you. Usually we provide a link to the Event organisers and/or results.
  14. The Caption is the only data field we add the Race number to. This can be read when the picture is viewed at the base of the Image.

Browsing through Pictures in an Event:

  1. Events are separated into sub-folders of Event Sub-Races / Age-Categories or Approximated finishing times.
  2. If it was not a Sports Event, suitable sections will be created.
  3. There is almost always a Miscellaneous folder for those non-race / organisers / marshals and other chance pictures that tend to take place.
  4. The description to the right of the page explains what the sub-folder contains.
  5. Either browse through the pages at the Thumbnail view, or click “slideshow” (available when looking at a large image) and let the pictures go through.
  6. When you see the picture you want, Add it to your Basket - you can always remove images later
